Lightly travel light with little ones

About Lightly

Lightly is a field guide for parents who travel — or want to start. It grew out of one conviction, learned the hard way across airports, hotel rooms and one memorable ferry: travelling with a baby gets easier the less you carry, not the more.

Every guide here is written and edited by parents who have done the trip in question with a real child. We are led by Dominique Olowolafe, and everything published follows the same rule: advice we would give a friend at the departure gate — specific, honest and short enough to read one-handed while holding a sleeping baby.

What Lightly covers

Three things, done properly: flying with babies and toddlers, the gear that earns its place in the bag (and the long list that doesn’t), and the trips themselves — where to go, where to stay, and how to get there without a trunk full of regret.

How we keep the lights on

Some gear guides contain affiliate links, marked and disclosed. They never decide what we recommend — our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy explain exactly how that works.
